CONSTRUCT A MINIATURE BUILDING

In the class, we were assign to build a sort of look like a Ancient
Greek temple (that is my imagination) by using the modelling clay. Actually the learning outcome from this task is to get know better of how the foundation, beam, column, steel bar and type of footing.

 CONSTRUCTING....

First we make 6 equal size small ball.

Then, after done with it we will turn it into a column.

By doing like that, we can get almost the same size for every column.

The columns.

Now for the foundation, we use the masking tape as a roller to make it flat easily.

Two foundation

For the steel bar we made out of recycle paper. We rolled it into a very thin bar.

Then, we place the steel bar into the column. The function of paper steel bar is to give strength for the column to withstand any load.

After added the paper steel bar into each column. The columns will place their respective point. The footing that we chose is 'Mat' footing.

The beam had been placed on top of column.

The beam

Next, the second foundation was put on top of the beam.

Final outcome. (Front view)

So called Ancient 'Greek' Temple

REFLECTION:

It was really fun and I gain some understanding about how this structure works. Actually the beam we should place it side to side with the column, not on top of it and we did not add the steel bar on the foundation. From there we can see that when our lecture was shaking the building, the structure was not that strong  However, at least we know where was our mistakes.
